about

My name is Emily Tingey - Emily for the Simon and Garfunkel song, Tingey for my father's family line. I have lived in Henderson, Nevada for close to my entire life, moving back to my hometown after completing my degree in interior design. I started this blog as a way to share the thoughts that are constantly buzzing around my prominently right brain, and to keep up with my love of design.

For much of my life I have found joy in creating, imagining, and designing. I started as a young girl exploring my grandmother’s exquisite home – a home that carried collections from all over the world – and my mother’s closet, then donned with fashionable clothing from the early 1990’s. Years later I was able to act on the talents my grandmother and mother saw in me at such an early age, and I sought out the skills to become an Interior Designer through the rigorous program offered at LDS Business College.

My education has taught me far more than the understanding of design principles; it has also instilled in me improved responsibility for the tasks I receive, a passion for education and design, great organization skills, timeliness in the completion of projects and assignments, and, what I consider a most important skills, an ability to maintain a stress-free and productive attitude during very stressful times.

There comes great pleasure and tranquility in the creation of something that sprouted from a simple idea. The passion to design is instilled in me through the teachings of the women before me, through my education, and through my own discovery. With so much life ahead of me, I look forward to unearthing more beauty.
